Frequently Asked Questions

If you have further questions after browsing this web page, please contact us and we will try to be of assistance.

What makes you different from other services?

Bullseye Speech Pathology, as the name suggests, is about targeted speech pathology services. Without a goal, you cannot strive towards it. With that philosophy in mind, if you engage our services, you will always know your target (what you want to improve) and our aim (how you're going to get a bullseye!). We don't predetermine how many sessions you will need, because that number varies between individuals. â€‹

How do I know if speech therapy might help me?

Many people can benefit from intervention from a speech pathologist!

Communication encompasses so many domains, and speech pathologists are experts in communication. If you are having trouble understanding others or getting your message across, whether that's pronunciation errors; forgetting what you're trying to say; not remembering the word you want; stuttering; or reading and writing, it's likely that we will be able to help you.

At Bullseye Speech Pathology, it doesn't matter how old you are. If you want to make gains in an area that we have said we have skills in, you can contact us for an appointment. We can't say for sure if speech therapy is going to help you, but we do know what the evidence says the best way to target your difficulties are and whether we have the skills to do that. Based on the information you give us, if we don't think we can help you, we will be upfront about this.

Where is Bullseye located?

Bullseye Speech Pathology has a clinic in Dunlop, ACT. The address will be provided to you upon confirmation of booking an appointment. This is not suitable for those with dog allergies.

We are also a mobile private practice, providing services outside the clinic within the Belconnen district of Canberra (suburbs with postcodes 2614, 2615, 2616, 2617). Example locations include private and group homes, daycares, schools, and supported workplaces. Sessions in these environments are conditional on Bullseye Speech Pathology determining that the location is safe and appropriate for sessions.

Telehealth services are also available for clients who live in the ACT or NSW.

How does telehealth work?

Telehealth sessions are conducted over the internet using video-call rather than occurring in person. This enables clients who live outside of Bullseye Speech Pathology's face-to-face service area to get support, as well as enabling continuity of service in the case of Covid restrictions or other illnesses impacting face-to-face sessions. Telehealth sessions will typically be conducted over the videoconferencing software  "Zoom". Most iPads, tablets, or computers would be appropriate for this use.

During a telehealth session with Bullseye Speech Pathology, you will be able to see and hear your therapist, just like you would be able to in face-to-face sessions. The therapist will be able to share their screen to show you any resources as required or to utilise an interactive whiteboard if this would be beneficial for the session goals. Telehealth is a suitable mode to target many different goals, however, your therapist will let you know in the case that this is unlikely to be of benefit for you.

Are you taking on new clients?
