Frequently Asked Questions
If you have further questions after browsing this web page, please contact us and we will try to be of assistance.
What makes you different from other services?
Bullseye Speech Pathology, as the name suggests, is about targeted speech pathology services. Without a goal, you cannot strive towards it. With that philosophy in mind, if you engage our services, you will always know your target (what you want to improve) and our aim (how you're going to get a bullseye!). We don't predetermine how many sessions you will need, because that number varies between individuals.

Bullseye Speech Pathology recognises that you may have queries that arise in-between scheduled sessions which impact your ability to consolidate what was targeted. Your therapist has phone consultation appointments available for this very reason. Current clients will be provided with the link to access online bookings for this service. Clients who have been discharged are also welcome to access this service and are welcome to re-refer for scheduled sessions if this is deemed appropriate.
How do I know if speech therapy might help me?
Many people can benefit from intervention from a speech pathologist!
Communication encompasses so many domains, and speech pathologists are experts in communication. If you are having trouble understanding others or getting your message across, whether that's pronunciation errors; forgetting what you're trying to say; not remembering the word you want; stuttering; or reading and writing, it's likely that we will be able to help you.

At Bullseye Speech Pathology, it doesn't matter how old you are. If you want to make gains in an area that we have said we have skills in, you can contact us for an appointment. We can't say for sure if speech therapy is going to help you, but we do know what the evidence says the best way to target your difficulties are and whether we have the skills to do that. Based on the information you give us, if we don't think we can help you, we will be upfront about this.
Where is Bullseye located?
Bullseye Speech Pathology was initially established to be a mobile private practice, providing services in homes within the Belconnen district of Canberra (suburbs with postcodes 2614, 2615, 2616, 2617). This is conditional on Bullseye Speech Pathology determining that the private house is safe and appropriate for sessions. Sessions are able to occur in schools or supported workplaces for the purpose of obtaining information from teachers or staff members, observing the individual in the context where difficulties are occurring, or where schools are happy for parents to also be in attendance for the session.
Bullseye Speech Pathology has now opened a small clinic in Dunlop which is open for face-to-face services. The address will be provided to you upon confirmation of booking an appointment.
Telehealth services are also available for clients who live in the ACT or NSW.
How does telehealth work?
Telehealth sessions are conducted over the internet using video-call rather than occurring in person. This enables clients who live outside of Bullseye Speech Pathology's face-to-face service area to get support, as well as enabling continuity of service in the case of Covid restrictions or other illnesses impacting face-to-face sessions. Telehealth sessions will typically be conducted over the videoconferencing software "Zoom". Most iPads, tablets, or computers would be appropriate for this purpose.
During a telehealth session with Bullseye Speech Pathology, you will be able to see and hear your therapist, just like you would be able to in face-to-face sessions. The therapist will be able to share their screen to show you any resources as required or to utilise an interactive whiteboard if this would be beneficial for the session goals. Telehealth is a suitable mode to target many different goals, however, your therapist will let you know in the case that this is unlikely to be of benefit for you.
Are you taking on new clients?
Bullseye Speech Pathology is happy to take on new clients. Due to the goal-directed, intensive service delivery model we offer, we frequently have availability to see new clients. Please contact us to discuss how we can help you to reach your goals.

In order to be able to keep our books open, please be aware that once you have reached your goal, you will be required to have a break from services to allow others to have the same opportunity. This will also enable you to consolidate your progress in everyday life.

You are of course welcome to contact us again to re-refer should you be motivated to target further issues in the future.
